Whitney's notebook
This application was really fun and I think it would be extremely useful both in the classroom and for personal reasons.

Computer Tips and Tricks
I would have to say that I am not the most computer literate person around and my computer is a little outdated, which causes me major headaches. One of the biggest problems I have with my computer is it freezing on me, then shutting down programs completely. This is not only annoying but has the potential to erase any work I am in the middle of doing (which means I hit save alot, and is a good idea for anybody). One way in which I can figure out which program is causing my computer problems or making it slow down is to hit ctl+alt+delete. It pulls up a list of programs that are currently open and will tell me which ones are responding properly and which ones aren't. I then have the option of shutting down the programs that are causing my computer to run slow.

Learning Styles
http://www.edutopia.org/node/6140/done?sid=224721
I think that the results of my learning styles quiz is fairly accurate. My highest score was for interpersonal learning. At first, I was not sure about this. However, when I looked up the definition of interpersonal, it said that these learners like to talk out problems and give and receive feedback. This is definitely me. I often find myself talking out loud to solve a math problem or even a difficult English problem, and I always find it helpful if someone is near me to bounce my thoughts and ideas off of. I also like getting feedback on assignments I turn in. I also scored high in the verbal-linguistic and logical-mathematical which makes sense because I enjoy problem solving and have always been good with words. I also think the areas in which I scored low was correct. I am not a very musical or artistic person and usually dislike these activities.

Reflection on Teaching
I've actually always really liked school and never disliked class as much as others may have, this included lectures. However, as I have taken more classes on effective teaching methods, I have realized that stagnant lessons do not benefit many of the students in a class. I'm currently taking a theater arts class and am learning how to get students up and moving while still covering content standards. I would love to incorporate active learning in my class to get students excited about school. I also realize that students love working with computers and anything involving technology. It would be great if I could incorporate as much technology as I can, including movie clips, currents songs and anything else that may appeal to students. Luckily, students get excited about anything new when they are young and my goal is to make school as enjoyable for the students as I possibly can.
